The wafer structure of silicon material is relatively thin in thickness. It mainly has two kinds of structure: round and square, and can be divided into single crystal and polycrystal. A single crystal is a crystalline material with a fixed orientation, commonly used as a substrate for semiconductor integrated circuits, but also in the production of solar cells. The purity of IC grade is required to reach more than 9N (99.9999999%), and zone fusing monocrystalline silicon sheet even reaches more than 11N (99.999999999%). It is usually obtained by direct-pull (CZ) and zone-melt (FZ) elongated crystals, whose orientation is determined by seed crystals. Monocrystalline silicon is the most important semiconductor material at present, accounting for more than 90% of the semiconductor material market, and is the basic material of information technology and integrated circuits.
